Good news: Joe Massot's 1981 Dance Craze documentary about the British 2 Tone Ska scene is finally getting a Blu-Ray/DVD release by the BFI on March 29th. Great news: it's also getting a big screen release at various independent cinemas across the U.K from March 22nd. You better believe Dance Craze is a documentary worth seeing at the flicks because it's 80% comprised of concert footage and those remastered live performances by The Specials, Madness, The Beat and The Selecter are gonna look/sound incredible on the big screen. Night boat to the pick n mix.
**EDIT** some background info about Dance Craze by the BFI here.

Dance Craze has a deluxe CD/LP rerelease out this week too, blud.
Nice. You gonna try and catch it at the Southbank?
Tickets for the BFI Southbank screening sold out ages ago.
Damn, that London eh?
Looks boss this.
It is.
Never could have imagined that Buster Bloodvessel from Bad Manners would outlive Terry Hall and Ranking Roger.
All these bank bailouts and we still lose datpiff and zippyshare within a week of each other.
Zippyshare has been blocked in England for a few years now so good riddance. Apparently Datpiff will return in some form.
Copped the DVD yesterday. Looks great and the Rudies Come Back BBC documentary makes a good extra.
Tempted to cop this, but I’ve spent an obscene amount on films this month.

😄
Seeing it on the big screen tonight. Can't wait.
Man, that shit was sick as fook on the big screen in a (very near) packed cinema. A buncha people left as the credits started to roll, tho, which means they missed the stage invasion during the reprise of Nite Klub by The Specials.
Schoolboy error leaving during the credits in a post-MCU world.
Wouldn’t mind BFI giving the same treatment with that legendary PE Hammersmith gig.
I learned that lesson when a lad in my junior school told me Skeletor popped up out of the pit after the credits in the Masters Of The Universe movie.
You can get P.E's Hammersmith show on DVD. Cinema release would be amazing.
