Kokantelechy Vs. The Doggy Dogg Syndrome

Sucks that Luvin' A Pimp didn't make Kokane's new album because the song is his best collaboration with Too $hort since Rhyme Slow in 1999 and the most convincing replica DJ Quik & Robert Bacon production you'll ever lay your ears on. Never mind, though, because album highlight Don't Go is the archetypal Clone Of Dr. Funkenstein every Kokane fan dreams of. Technically, Kokane's wobbly bizarro world Nate Dogg crooning and Snoop's Sway In The Morning freestyle-type verse belong in different postcodes, yet here they coexist on the same song as 2 thumpasourus neighbours. Like David Cameron nearly told Jeremy Corbyn today - we're just one nation under a groove.

Currently marooned on the sofa with a rotten man-flu but jamming R U A Freak back-to-back with this has improved my mood somewhat.

any chance you will do roundup of the best boosie tracks of the year so far since dude has just dropped his 3rd project in as many months?

I'm only into a handful of 2016 Boosie songs tbh.

Not really feeling these generic trap beats he's been rapping over. Needs more Mouse and DJ B-Real.

This Kokane song is the first time Ive made the George Clinton connection w his voice tbh, like I knew he was going for P-Funk but I never actually copped on he literally just sounds like him

I think half the problem w the Boosie beats is the mixing is gick, load of the instruments are completely swamped its like half muted on purpose/half idk what the buttons are. like theres a song w webbie on the last one that is at a hilariously different volume and possibly recorded in that car boot E-40 keeps saying has animals in it.

Still feeling them more than Gates' ones but both them lads need to get w the home team. Thug Talk has a great run from Menace II Society to Thug Prayer tho and Wake Up is incredible. the other albums are more scattered imo.

Smile To Keep From Crying and Forgive Me Being Lost are still >>>>> everything else by him this year for me.
