(From Dr. Octagonecologyst album; 1996)
Man, DJ Q-Bert went all out like an emergency exit on this shit. Forget wanky 90s turntablism, Bear Witness was the best instrumental cut-up track since Tuff Crew's Behold The Detonator. Being that Automator did the beats and Q-Bert did the scratches, Bear Witness was the first great 100% AZN Rap song - probably the last too since Jackie Chain ain't produce his own shit and has now retired to literal greener pastures as a weed-farmer.

Never got full into the Dr Octogan album but this was on the flip of the Earth People 12" and I love it. Put it on a mix recently so i should probably upload it at some point
Blue Flowers was a big favourite for the people who don't usually like Rap brigade back in 1996.
Classic.
What ever happened to the Block Beattaz?
Dunno. I guess they ran outta beatz?
That Dr. Octagon album is definitely a classic but a little to weird for my taste even by Kool Keith standards I like the Dr. Doom album better personally.
last i heard block beattaz moved to sweden https://soundcloud.com/slowmoeurope
Don’t sleep on halfsharkalligatorhalfman. That song should be immortalized in the avant-garde rap hall of fame.
The Bork Beattaz.
Cenobites album is my fave post-Ultras Keith shit.
Dunno what this says bout my rap fan ageing process but I've gotten heavy into later Keith lately, incl his Saks 5th AVE album that's like his attempt at that puddle deep jiggy on the cover of hypebeast Griselda style shite but good. Also his ice t supergroup lol n a few others so wanna revisit this, was never that into it.
Think Blue Flowers was my ultimate remix switch n bait, Napster wasn't tagging prince Paul in that shit.
I used to really like Sex Style back in't day. A mate of mine swears by the Masters Of Illusion album he did with Kutmasta Kurt.
Sex style is my shit, when he went on about it before I was like fair enough I rly hear the bays influence in shit like that now.
He shouts out Mac Dre in a recent song n I believe it more than all them ppl ten yrs ago
the masters of illusion album is indeed really good
The UK/MO Wax version of "Dr Octagonecologyst" is classic. As are "First come, first served," "Sex Style" and "Black Elvis lost in space." Kool keith went proper shit during the 00s but "Dr Dooom 2," "Controller of Trap," "Feature Magnetic" and "Time + Astonishing" are all worth a listen.
