Has any mc ever littered their verses with their own name as much as Pacewon? He was killing around '97, with all those Pacewon rhymes.

I should probably add that I used BigSleep's They Reminisce blog for reference here.

i like the guest verse on 'girls' its a good contrast, not someone you'd want to hear a full album from but a solid guest verse as those go

Kelvin Mack10zie said...

As well as sounding like some corny Pitchfork podcaster that Horsehead lad also ruins the whole sanging vibe of Girls.

Stop producers rapping on their songs, imho. Did ppl learn nothing from the time Alchemist damn near ruined Hold You Down?

Didn't know Gov Mattic died. Do you have any info?

been waiting to see if we'd get one of your patented "why couldn't god have taken ____ instead of ____" posts since i heard the news about lil peep

you're nobody til somebody kills u said...

God bless the dead (top 3 Pac choon btw)

R.I.P. Eastside Stevie: ASAP Yams - Thugged Out

And Lil Snupe - Intro (to DJ Mustard: Ketchup)

Whose death inspired one of Meek's best songs IMO

Speaking of Killa Sha that new post humous album that just came out is dope.

Well technically those are producers/deejays but still....

This is a real trip down sad blog post memory lane!

(I only liked one lil peep song too, but I've gained an appreciation for him thanks to Thomas and David Drake, and I felt sad and kind of touched (no sexual misconduct victim) reading his obituary. But when that "horsehead" guy popped into the "Girls" video you linked I burst into a cleansing, mean-spirited cackle.)

Just realised you already posted ketchup intro, deepest apologies

Kelvin Mack10zie said...

Why couldn't God have taken Horsehead instead of Lil' Peep?™

I got no idea how Gov Mattic died, just remember a handful of R.I.P posts.

Biggest producer loss since this site went live has to be Larry Smith. Supa Villain would be the most promising loss.

And, of course, R.I.P to Matthew Africa, Yams, and Gary Warnett.

Killa Keise is the only one of those guys I know, rymsnitch.

Wasn't he Cellski's actual brother?

turd butt said...

P Folks

P Folks you fuckers, P Folks, I don't get how everyone is still sleeping on that album, really don't understand it

David said...

I take it you’re not a fan of LA Capone (“round here”) or Young Pappy (“phones”)

Kelvin Mack10zie said...

Rymsnitch AND Turd Butt in the same comments?

Maximum mobmusik synergy.

step one said...

Post is a reminder that Jadakiss has an insane amount of quotables but is unfairly dismissed due to his inability to make a solid album

d said...

Ah what P Folks died? :(

turd butt said...

yeah, check how everyone loses their shit when the p folks verse comes on

Lord infamous RIP
Koopsta Knicca RIP
Macc Grace RIP

Kelvin Mack10zie said...

So, who's gonna make a Girls edit without Horsehead's verse?

Only current rapper with a lisp we acknowledge is Queen Key.

d said...

My personal favs his unintelligible to me hit A Muthafucka verse though, i never wanna know what he said
