(From GNX album; 2024)
As Kase2 nearly said, it's the Debbie Deb and the Kenny Ken!
In 2015 people got mad when I called Kendrick Lamar yhe highfalutin Kid Ink: a great singles artist from California who makes horrible albums. It's now 2024 and my theory holds true more than ever because Squabble Up is the best song on his new LP by a Shorty Long mile. This shit has the full-toned knock of a Bay Area track and it doesn't mention That Canadian Nonce™, thus I prefer it to Not Like Us. My only complaint is he didn't get Ezale and Nef The Pharaoh up in this video like he did for the Alright video.
**EDIT** I just realised the guys on scraper bikes in this video are the same guys on scraper bikes who were in Ezale's Day Ones video.

Second half of TV off is also good, first half sounds so sterile though.
I’m not sure if I like Squabble Up or Reincarnated best. I think those two are the best songs on that album.
I’m still baffled to see so many people agree on To Pimp A Butterfly as the single best rap album of all time. It was at that moment I realized I wasn’t as tapped in to mainstream rap as I was before.
I guess time comes for us all
Some incredibly overwrought and annoying songs on this album 😬
Like the Darlene Ortiz and Isaac Hayes nods.
Something which has bothered me for some time and I guess I'm hoping for some actual #discourse here, why so many people consider songs as 'Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst' as top tier rap (I've even seen people go as far and call it a top 10 rap song of all time) whereas it's easily one of the worst / most annoying songs I've ever heard in my life.
I guess to each their own but I really really don't understand it. What am I missing here? Why do so many rap fans regard these songs so highly? I'm really lost.
Can’t say I saw this coming I’ve done pretty good at avoiding Kendrick’s music despite one of my good friends being a huge fan. I’ve never heard Not like us in it’s entirety if I can go the rest of my life without hearing it life goal accomplished.
It's the little things which make the difference.
Had to search that title to even know what it is. I must have heard it because I did listen to that album once, but I have zero recollection of it.
I heard the full clean version of it in a shop the other day 😁
It's specifically that drawn out 'a minoooooooooooor' that makes me want to turn the song off.
i like the beat on this which is as close as I've ever come to liking to a Kendrick track. Wont ever listen to it again unless someone good decides to freestyle over it (do people still do that?)
He just seems so determined for everything he does to have meaning and context and The Guardian love him but he has a shitty voice and think he's better than he is because all his peers make worse music than he does.
Rare Step One cameo.
I'm another one who has never got, or gets the hype surrounding Kendrick as an emcee or artist. The only track I've ever enjoyed of his is 'meet the grahams' despite having zero interest in either of them, or their beef. (no boutros!)
Alright and King Kunta are his best songs to me.
I dunno if "sing about me" is one of the best rap songs ever but it's a classic to me, I really like his songs in that conceptual/introspective mode with a jazzy best like "opposites attract"
I'm a fan although I haven't liked any album of his as much as good kid maad city probably. (And haven't even listened to the new one yet). I'm actually maybe the opposite to you in that I find his music works much better within the context of his albums
I can see that if you dislike his voice (let alone his Voices) then you wouldn't like any of his music full stop but same for any rapper I guess
My two pence - c0rpsey
Never seen the appeal of Kendrick Lamar. We already have plenty Outkast and Devin at home. His voice is annoying. His other voices are silly and annoying. He's not deep or entertaining (to me).
dunno how you did that, it played everywhere... and i live in france !
agree with your stance on his albums but i liked the detroit flow on some of his recent songs.
Enjoyed this comment 😄
Subjective & Dated personal views: Da Boi would make this slap, dunno 'bout Kendrick on here, personally. Is Kendrick jacking Sada Baby flow on the third? verse on Not like us? Can't bring myself to listen to this album, kinda liked some tracks on Section 80, when that was his "only" album out. Props for enduring a listen of his latest album.
A week later and I like this song even more now. Might go as far as saying it's my favourite Kendrick single ever. Can't wait to hear it out IRL.
Kendrick's terrible jeans are unforgivable tho.
