Max Markin

Remember when the Beastie Boys' keyboard noodler transformed one of his rickety lo-fi album interludes into a U.K Top 40 hit which was catchier than herpes on a Concert Square hookah pipe? Lemme kill a whole flock of seagulls with one fact here: Hand In Your Head is empirically the best song Mo' Wax Records ever released, and, yes, that includes songs from any of their licenced U.K reissues.

Money Mark - Hand In Your Head
(From Push The Button album; 1998)

Fun fact: John "The Scouse XXXtentacion" Lennon's son played the bass on Hand In Your Head. That's his half-AZN 'Murican son Sean, not his full CAC Scouser son Julian. Another L for the city of Liverpool or wot?

Never got that much Mo Wax stuff but the DJ Krush/CL Smooth 12" is decent and Peshay 'Miles From Home' was large in dnb circles.

Was Lavelle the original hipster chancer? Always felt he was very much right place right time and was winging it from then on.

Not heard this in years.

Didn't Mo Wax put out the superior version of the Dr Octagon album?

Yes.

Hand In Your Head is better than any song on there, imo (and I say that as someone who loves Bear Witness and Blue Flowers.)

Living w an mp3 of the Blue Flowers Prince Paul remix for ages before getting Dr Octagon was a real "ah fuck is this the album version" moment for me.

Bass on Blue Flowers sounds similar to the intro of Dru Down's 2nd album.
