Born To Audiomack: D.O.OM Entertainment Top 5 Choonz

D.O.O.M Entertainment was a Yonkers record label which dropped a string of 12" singles and a compilation album between 1996 and 1998. Their roster included rappers you've probably never heard of like Phil Blunts and Black Jesus, and they also released killer deep cuts by rappers you've probably heard of like Sporty Thievz and Genovese. Here's a Quinary Of Quality playlist featuring the label's 5 best choonz as according to me. True story: On The Attack is my G.O.A.T minor Tunnel Banger™ which shoulda been a major Tunnel Banger™. Pity about that one #problematic line tho eh?

D.O.O.M Entertainment Top 5 Choonz:
1. Phil Blunts - On The Attack (1996)
2. Sporty Thievz - Ya Don't Stop (1998)
3. Genovese - Decisions (1998)
4. Black Jesus & Snypa - G Notes (1997)
5. Phil Blunts ft. Black Jesus - They Don't Really Love Us (1997)

* The Sporty Thievz song has vanished from Bandcamp, isn't on YouTube, and has never been on any official DSPs so it's currently a MARTORIALIST EXCLUSIVE!! Find the MP3 here.

* G Notes and They Don't Really Love Us are two of the most "you can check CNN for The War Report"-core songs you'll ever hear.

Sporty Thievz were so dope. Street Cinema was a good album IMO

It's to bad not more came of the Die Hard crew outside of random singles they fit right in with the Lox & Black Rob during the jiggy era.

Nice post. I only had a rip of that Sporty Thievz record off a DJ Rated R mixtape ("Niggaz Done Started Something Pt. 2").

Genovese - Decisions, only had a bad quality rip off Lazy K - Bombomzee Pt. 3, already 1997 though I believe..

Supreme, I got the notification for that and then got pissed off it wasn't the Hustlas remix.

Ben, personal fave joints on Die Hard are Genovese's Thesis and The Block Hot.

Krisch, I'm pissed I didn't cop the second song off that Bandcamp release of Ya Don't Stop now King Kirk has deleted it. Can't remember it's title but it made an ideal B-side.

All songs/rappers I only know because of this blog. Appreciated.

Not familiar with that Die Hard joint, got a discogs link?

Also, any chance of an upload of that Sporty Thievz song for at home use? That Street Cinema album is low key on of my favourite late 90's NY rap albums. Aside from Cheapskate and MAYBE No Pigeons, you never hear anybody ever speak on them.

A couple of their 12's and the Lost N Yonkers compilation were co-released with D.O.O.M Entertainment.
