Here's a random fact and a cool story, bro:

Big Worm (Faizon Love) has said multiple times that Katt Williams' inspiration for his gangster pimp persona, after starting out as Katt "In the Hat" Williams, came from meeting actual pimp comedian Mac Minister. It's plausible, but Faizon's hatred for Katt is also well known.

A while back, maybe a year ago, my old modem was a piece of shit and so Comcast sent a tech out to my house to set up a new one. Dude's name was Derrell. Asked me about my Big L plaque before he saw my Mac Dre and Nef the Pharaoh gear. Then he lemme know that he was the director of the Bitch I'm From Vallejo music video. Said he was from Vallejo. Had the name of the production company off the top of his head, so I knew he was legit. When I asked, he mentioned that he also directed for Cousin Fik, J. Stalin, Mozzy, Philthy Rich, Willie Joe, maybe rattled off a few other names as well. Told me that if I search for SureShotMedia that it'll all pop up, but that was all really old stuff to him now. Apparently him and his wife were havin' another kid, so he went back to work as a technician soon after all that. We talked about the old Super Hyphy shows that brought everybody out back in the day, he fixed everything up and bounced. Cool bro story.; 22 August 2018 at 20:49

The Big Sleep said...: I remember looking at the list of videos that this guy directed and thinking it was a lot and that he got to work with some of these guys before they really blew up a bit more, but also that the Bitch I'm From Vallejo video was probably one of the biggest things he had done, which kinda explained how quick he was to notice the Neffy logo I had up. Seemed like he kinda missed directing but the money wasn't there for him on a consistent enough basis.

Willie Joe is a local favorite that has some definite gems, that's an underrated pick for sure.; 22 August 2018 at 23:08
