My Mind Spray: Special Ed edition

One of my favourite short-lived Rap rumours: Special Ed only had one hand. Brought about because of Ed's bizarre pose on the cover of his debut album; short-lived because as soon as you saw the video for I Got It Made, you knew Ed wasn't Kase 2.5.

As far as opening trifectas of songs on Rap albums go, Taxing, I Got It Made and I'm The Magnificent from Special Ed's debut album is one of the best three choon runs on a golden-era LP. Which makes it all the more baffling that Priority Records decided to remix I'm The Magnificent for the single/video release and ruined the song with vastly inferior production. As far as pointless video mixes of classic Rap song ever go, the video mix of I'm The Magnificent is second only to the video mix of In The Ghetto by Eric B. & Rakim. Two separate A&Rs destroyed two perfect songs with two shitty video remixes in the SAME DAMN YEAR.

Speaking of I'm The Magnificent, Special Ed's "I betcha what you want is just attention/your mother & your father should have used some prevention" lyric is applicable to most current Hip-Hop media personalties: DJ Vlad, Adam22, Joe Budden, DJ Akademiks, Wack 100, Trap Lore Ross etc. The world would be a better place if none of those lads were ever born.

Rap media has more or less turned into the male version of 90s women’s talk shows.

Trap Lore Ross is simply the worst. Floppy haired ponce revelling in Black-on-Black misery for the amusement of other floppy haired ponces.

Is it DJ Vlad's fault idiot rappers volunteer to publicly snitch on themselves? Is it Vlad's fault some rappers lack self awareness and the self control to know when to keep it zipped? He's an awful interviewer and all his videos are far too long but his interviewees need to take their share of responsibility for fuelling the shitshow.

atm, youtube is recommending a shed load of interview excerpts by this "Panda chop" channel. Mostly Necro and Necro adjacent vids. Suits me. Necro is such a lolcow.

I'm Taxing definitely one of those songs that should've been a 12"

Hard agree on the insufferable gossip bitches cluttering up the algorithm.

YouTube recommended me the Copywrite interviews with Panda Chop too. I only watched the part where he talked about getting beat up by Camu Tao.

Same here, very strange. Very annoying seeing somebody with an inability stay still, or constantly fuck with there stupid ponytail. or an interview about something incredibly inane, or meaningless. Sadly i had terrible taste and had a few of those early Apathy 12"s. constant deterioration of the "culture". What happened to cool stories like when PMD had Eric Sermon Robbed. (not cool per se) but somewhat more interesting. Didn't know Mighty Mi & Eon had funny voices.

This Panda Chop bloke is all over my feed too. There is nothing I love more than seeing Mac Lethal on Rhymesayers split - part 72 and immediately clicking

Need Cash "Cashmere" Rulz on Panda Chop calling Mac Lethal a racist for saying he looked like "Roseanne Barr covered in tar" during their Skribble Jam battle.

After reviewing the evidence i have come to the only possible and logical conclusion: Special Ed’s arms look freakish long in the I Got It Made video.

Still one of the greatest 80s songs to date

That Panda Chop guy has multiple interviews with Cuban Link and 2 5 hour interviews with Necro lol.

Ben, I'm hoping the Panda Chop guy finds Will High and interviews him about his beef with Vordul and El-P.

At this point Jim Jones is doing more content heat-seeking in this past year than he's ever done with his music so he may have to join these ranks (Maino innocente)

Last week I spent around 10 minutes reading IG comments clowning Jim for not knowing how to use a drill properly.

Don't get it twisted tho, JOMO is still one of my favourite songs from last year.
