(From Going Off single; 2021)
Husalah homage alert! P-Lo's killer little run of singles continues with his 5th yumper in a row. P's slowly but consistently dropping anthems when too many of his NorCal contemporaries are content to drop any old shite in the name of #content. If a Bay Area slap doesn't make you turf dance a hole in your living room carpet then toss that song out on the corner and let the bin men take it away.
PS: I found the intro from Walked In.
Both you and P-Lo doing the lord's work. Great find on that intro.
ReplyDeleteStill gotta find which interview it comes from tho.
ReplyDeleteI need a 40 project produced by P-Lo
ReplyDeleteI'll ask P-Lo on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteThat's Dubee in the video if that helps narrow it down. I'm on the hunt.
ReplyDeleteYeah I've been searching Dubee clips to no avail.
ReplyDeleteIn other Bay news, E-40 and Suga Free put out a video for 19 Dolla Lapdance https://youtu.be/R1mwGZ3EP7M
ReplyDeleteI think this might be my favourite P-Lo joint of 2021. Production for some reason reminds me a bit of "Blow The Whistle" though I'm not sure if that's just wishful thinking or actual influence.
ReplyDeleteThat was definitely my fave '40 song in a while.
ReplyDelete... and speaking of best songs in a while by NorCal rappers, I can't front on A-Wax's new single Trophy Case. His flow on this one is colder than a Penguin's pussy.
ReplyDeleteGlad yuou've warmed up to Wax.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Kool John's latest tape, it has a song with P-LO.
I heard the Kool John already. I headed straight for the P-Lo song lol but Trash Man was the highlight imo.
ReplyDeleteI like that even at a lil over 2 minutes the songwriting is still there. 2 verses, 2 prechorus, and 2 hooks.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeletePlus a Husalah sample and 2 separate Cuttin' It Up interpolations!
