Generic list post: November 2024

Heaven - In Here
(From YouTube; 2024)

Obligatory wrap-up post of those songs I've played most during the month when Johnny The Boxxx found a Party Up-interpolating smutty New Orleans Bounce song by some lass who looks like a back-up dancer from an old J Hus video. Also the month I dropped a playlist of non-2024 Rap songs which have been all up in my ears this year.

Arabian Prince - Simple Planet (1988/2008)
Saafir aka Mr. No No - Street Scene (1998)
Kurious - Cow's Eye (2024)
Kurious - Separation Anxiety (2024)
Homeboy Sandman - Win Win (2024)
41 - Save Me (2024)
Nef The Pharaoh - Essence (2024)
Nef The Pharaoh - Don't Stop (2024)
Nef The Pharaoh - Big Tymin (live at The Bakery) (2024)
Kendrick Lamar - Squabble Up (2024)
DMX Krew - Warp Zone (2024)

  1. The Firm is easily one of Gary Oldman's best films. Great supporting cast, too.

    1. Before Drexl there was Bexy.

Gotta love a movie which features Benny from Grange Hill, Jim Mcdonald from Corrie and Phil Mitchell from Eastenders.

  2. Cosh & Bex.

Mickey Pearce from Only Fools and Horses is also in it. 😀

  3. The Firm 1989 >>>>> The Firm 1993

Also The Long Kiss Goodnight made a huge impression on me as a kid haha, I still reference some scenes to this day (the chopping veggies one especially). Solid 2nd/3rd tier 90s action flick.

    1. TBH I'd never even heard of The Long Kiss Goodnight until my local cinema screened it as part of their film club a few weeks back. Absolute 1st tier 90s action flick to me.

  5. I rewatched point break the other night (BFI player innit) and I'd say it's about as good as a cheesy American crime/action flick can get.

Also BFI player watched: crouching tiger, hidden dragon, drunken angel, stray dog, Yojimbo, police story

    All bangers - corpseE

    1. I finally saw it at the cinema thanks to the BFI's action season thingy.

Big fan of the BFI player. Only streaming service I'll ever pay for, in fact.
