Generic list post: November 2021

Obligatory wrap-up post of those songs I've played most during the month when my YouTube feed was clogged up with stupid Alpo conspiracy theories. Pennance for all the times I flexed about copping the pre-cinema release Paid In Full bootleg DVD from Canal Street?

Max B - Mountains (2021)
Solemn Brigham - Dirty Whip (2021)
DJ Fresh & Nef The Pharoah - Giggerz (2021)
Travis Porter - Same Hoes (2021)
Pa Salieu ft. Slowthai - Glidin' (2021)
Money Mark - Rock In The Rain (1998)
Anna Taylor-Joy - Downtown (Downtempo) (2021)

Other notables: Ready Or Naw gotta be my favourite Mac J song in a minute; fair play to Rico Nasty & Flo Milli for the first 2 Live Crew homage of 2021 (or is it...?)

  1. We Want Some Pussy >>>>> the Rico Nasty and Flo Milli song

  2. Without it being a bad track, that Rico Nasty x Flo Milli doesn't really do it for me like I had hoped. Especially the second part of Flo Milli's verse falls flat imo.

Checked out both Mac J and Nef The Pharaoh's albums today, concur with "Ready Or Naw" and "Giggerz" being the high points of both. "Same Enemys" (Mac J) and "Another Day" (Nef) probably will also get burn in what's left of 2021.

  3. Had no idea Tony Hatch penned Downtown until now. Only knew him from the Neighbours theme.

  4. Hatch got classix (no Boosie.)

The Nasty & Milli song woulda been better if they'd both gone full spazz-brat Veruca Salt on it.

  6. Speaking of Boosie, he has a new album out which features Webbie, Mouse and Female Rapper titled "Back 2 BR".

  7. It's not all dis tracks to Lil Nas X is it?

If that unreleased Boosie & Foxx song isn't on there then I'm rioting.

  8. Time to grab your pitchfork then. At this point you almost have to wonder what transpired between Boosie and Foxx as that song would be an easy 4/5 or better.

Can't say I heard a single Nas X reference, but maybe he kept it on the down low.

Webbie sounds beyond washed up at this point, song's an easy skip. Even though it's great to hear that 'mouse on the track, that'll make you bounce and act' right before Boosie goes in again, the 2-3 songs with his production sadly aren't a patch on "Stop Playin'". To me, the best track of the album is "Set 'Em Up", featuring Female Rapper.

Also really dug "Stand Off" he did earlier this year, I think it's my favourite Boosie song of the year and would/will make my best songs of the year.

The tape did inspire me to revisit "4 Walls To A Cell" today, still a great listen.
