Lord knows

"Nah, now I ain't on your level
But can I ask you a question - why you make the Devil?
Me, I wouldn't make my own enemies
And for every fatal disease I'd make remedies
Switch George W. with John F. Kennedy
He in the drop-top enjoying the weather
POW!!!
Laura Bush got brain on her sweater
I like that pic a bit better"

Mic Terror - If God Was Mic
(From the internet; 2008)

Much like Hoopty Music, If God Was Mic is an early Mic Terror song which really shoulda been a single. In a perfect universe it woulda been the If I Ruled The World of the late-MySpace/early-blog Rap era; in my universe it's a #MicTerrorHive classic. Slick Rick-level songwriting which contains multitudes and my personal favourite use the Go On And Cry loop courtesy of Gzus Piece who was a producer before he started rhyming. How much do I love this song? Like Tyson loves Cus D'Amato!

  5. Yeh ive always wanted to go to america n almost all of the reason was to ship home crates of music that goes for a tenner there.

  7. Came here for the Mic Terror mp3, stayed for the Nickatina comment. I was lucky enough to find both Raven In My Eyes and Tears Of A Clown in the wild for a decent price the last couple of years.

I gotta say that aside from I Hate You WIth A Passion, Convo With A Devil is maybe my second favorite Andre album. There's some really good storytelling tracks on there (The God And The Stripped, Train With No Love, Show Gone Wrong), and so many tracks that stay stuck in my head like Soul Of A Coke Dealer, Dice Of Life or A Yo, just to name a few. But yeah I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get a physical copy of it.

  9. Im p sure Noz posting Dice of Life was what got me into nickatina, funnily enough not Smoke Dope And Rap lol

Cant find it now but there was a video where jacka talked about his fav rappers growing up n that Nickatina was one of Husalahs, which makes a lot of sense to me.

  10. The day regional rap tapes that cost less than 40 quid/arent smash hits start showing up in the wild here is the day I give up my dream of following my ancestors footsteps poorly tarmacking yank rubes driveways

  11. Jacka's best non-Mob Figaz collaborater: Nickatina, Dru Down or Laroo?

(Tbf in terms of amount of jams it's probably Berner 😄)

  12. rly hate to say it but Berner/berners weed was the most powerful muse. None of the jacka songs w veterans go as hard as the cellski one though lets be real

  13. I wanna concur but Hello Hello Hello is as good imho.

Related: Mob Shit makes a good B-side to Won't Be Right dunnit?

Related 2: I'm been waiting on Cellski's new album because I saw some song snippet which was nuts.

  14. Damn Mob Shit is rly good, forgot all about that one

  16. If we're extending the geography then I'd nominate Ampichino for the collabs with the Jacka, love the first 2 volumes of the Devilz Reject.

I'm not sure which very Nickatina song got me sold first but it might have been Saw A Gansta Cry. I remember playing Dice Of Life to a friend once and he had a "wait, what is happening here?"-look on his face, didn't expect that beat and flow at all, that was a great moment.

  17. 😄

Dice Of Life is the greatest pirate song of the past 200 years.

  18. Jackas a good one to stan, you never stop digging. Not big on any of his full album collab ppl tbh, they get outshined too hard for me.

Dice of life was a real first drug experience for me, felt like one of the animes w bright colours
