Ice like T, hot like Hell

Max B - Take A Flick (CDQ version)
(From the ByrdGang era; 2007)

Take a picture, it'll last almost as long as it's taken me to snag the lesser-heard CDQ version of Max B's Take A Flick. A ByrdGang-era Biggavelz song which didn't leak until 2013, this shit coulda been the B-side to Why You Do That, and both songs back-to-back on the same single woulda been New York's last great double-sided Rap 12".

24 volumes of Max's Library Of A Legend and they somehow missed Take A Flick? Owww the humanity.

  3. I've never been able to work the sample out even though it definitely sounds familiar as fuck.

Also missing from Library Of A Legend - that reference track Max did for Puffy to use on the Biggie Duets album.

  6. I assume they were compiled by Max's people since they're all on Spotify etc?

  7. Feel like I've definitely heard Memphis Bleek rapping over that same sample, maybe prod. by Just Blaze (it does totally sound like a early Saigon era Just Blaze sample), have no idea what random mixtape it came from though.

  8. Actually found it...turns out it was a Saigon ft. Bleek track so my memory didn't fail me

  11. There's another unreleased ByrdGang group song that exists only as a brief in-studio video snippet.
