ReplyDeleteMy bank accountant Ben Franklin's just maxin'
ReplyDeleteCan't argue with this tbh. Nice to see Tone Loc get a look in. Was more of a Funky Cold Medina fan back in the day. It's still the only song I've ever done at karaoke (once)
ReplyDeleteThat second Shan album is a low-key classic.
ReplyDeleteWhen is Step One gonna do a Tone Loc/Tove Lo blend?
ReplyDeleteFuckin A. The list could go on and on.

Boom
Damn!
ReplyDeleteExcellent list, as always. Was under the impression that Audio Two's Top Billin' was a 1988 track as well, it seems I was wrong as it dropped in 1987.
ReplyDeleteTop Billin' = officially the best rap song of 1987.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that rap today doesn't resemble any of these songs. When I want something that's barely moved forward in 40 years and prefers instead to recycle its cultural high-points over and over again, I'll listen to some rock music.
