Suga Druga

Best believe ya host is on a mission to locate every slapable Dru Down deep cut. Already ticked off the list are the pre-Relativity Records joints like Weak Move, Dru Rules and Bigger Than What You Think, plus the Can You Feel Me-era victims of sample clearance like Assassinated and In Jail. Now it's onto the sporadic highlights of his 2 early '00s albums, the 2nd of which was supposed to come out on the reborn Death Row Records in 2002. File Gangstafied under ‘Slapp & Roger-core songs which Suga Free really shoulda guested on.’

  1. Sad that no one's commenting on this one, shout out to the World Class Wrecking Dru aka Dru Barrymore.

  2. Its weird that Dru and Suga Free didn't do more joints... Seems like a perfect match. Maybe too good, their flows are really similar. Hadn't thought about that before.

  3. These Dru Down posts are very much appreciated! Stumbled on this one yesterday: https://youtu.be/VeO8tgNdqeU (from Yukmouth's Godzilla (2003)), Dru and the Luniz have quite a few "Lost Tapes" collections on the streamers as well.

Anonymous's comment reminds me, you were talking about Suga Free releasing music before Dru? Thought you meant the videos, but "D" mentioned an ep?

  4. The EP Suga Free did in 1992 as Royal Rock.

That first Luniz lost tapes is the Formally Known As The LuniTunes EP they dropped in 1994. Love that shit.

That first Dru Down lost tapes album is real nice. His only essential album after the first two, in fact.
