Because you can remind yourself how (then-Tung) Twista's medley performance of
Ratattat and
Razzamatazz/Jazzamatazz on Yo! in 1992 makes the studio recordings of
both songs sound half-arsed in comparison - something which seldom ever happens in the confusing world of rap music where most live TV performances are comprised of 25% mumbled ad libbing to disguise the bits where rappers forget their lyrics, 25% offbeat shouting at all the wrong moments from weed carriers who are excited to be on the telly, and 50% in-house back-up bands with all the blistering soul-power of
4 Poofs & A Piano.

ReplyDeleteThe twista comp d/l link is dead, here is the re-up ---> http://www54.zippyshare.com/v/63393492/file.html
Edited my post and added your re-up.
ReplyDeleteI should probably add that I do like Razzamatazz/Jazzamatazz because it sounds like a yung Twista homage to the first Black Sheep album.
Finally hearing the studio version of Ratattat after first hearing live on Yo! was definitely a let down, though.
